Paul Williams' words and Lloyd Larson's lovely melody join together to paint a haunting portrait of the Lamb let to slaughter.  The surprise that awaits near the end of the anthem, though, is a brief detour into the chorus os And Can it Be That I Should Gain.  Modest vocal demands open this to choirs of all sizes and levels.
