• Composers are the lifeblood of our operation, and we strive to be a "composers first" publisher! We welcome submissions from all composers, and are actively seeking to partner with underrepresented voices in the choral field, particularly people of color and women, as we expand our catalog.
  • It may be helpful to familiarize yourself with our catalog (particularly our current New Issuesas well as our previous year's best-sellers list, linked on our homepage) to see the kind of music we are publishing and selling most successfully. However, we are always open to new directions, and our focus is more on artistic excellence in a style than any particular style itself. Our catalog's "style" is defined by what we choose to publish, not vice versa, and is always evolving.
  • We publish only full settings/arrangements, not melody sheets or un-arranged songs/hymns. (Our limited publications of congregational songsheets are always derived from already-published choral anthems).
  • Please submit only 1-2 pieces, representing your best work. We publish a very limited number of pieces each year, that we believe can "rise to the top" of the crowded sheet music market.
  • Please send each piece to only one publisher at a time. (Standard practice in the print music industry).
  • Audio MP3's are NOT necessary. Please only send a recording if it is an outstanding performance recording. (No digital mockups, please.)
  • We make every effort to review submissions in a timely manner. However, due to our small-staff approach and our twice-yearly production schedule, it may sometimes take 2-5 months for the review process. Thank you for your patience.
  • We believe all composers benefit from a trusted editor's feedback. We are known in the choral field for working with composers on their pieces (once accepted for publication) more than other publishers. Our goal in this process is never to "change your piece into our image", but rather, to partner with you in making your piece the very best version of itself that it can be - achieving its maximum potential while preserving the integrity of your artistic voice. Our BP composers, as well as our industry partners, regularly bear witness to the value and success of our approach.

Submissions are also accepted by mail to the addresses below; please include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish for the music to be returned to you.
