Howard Helvey has already established his reputation for effectively arranging spirituals for choir in his settings of "My Lord, What a Mornin'", "Go Tell It on the Mountain" and "Deep River."  Suitable for the Lenten season, his latest addition to that genre is this expressively flowing arrangement.  As always, the lyric quality of his vocal writing and the interesting detail in his keybaord accompaniment are in evidence.
